Birds in Thought and Motion
Birds seem all knowing as they twist and turn their head, as if tuning the radio to get a better understanding on the vocal world around them. In the mist of which they seem fully engaged -- abruptly jump, twist, and plunge from the security of a tree branch, with no notice or particular reason. Karen captures such moments in her “Birds in Thought and Motion” solo show with a monotone palette and open spaces that allows the viewer to focus in on the subject, its movements, and its curiosities at both rest and flight – from character baby birds, to pelicans and cranes in graceful flight, to raging eagles in conflict.
